Makwa Sahgaiehcan people faced oppression and injustice since the invasion of our territories. The effects of this oppression ripple through generations of Makwa Sahgaiehcan people.

Over the years, Makwa Sahgaiehcan leaders and community members did the best they could in the face of pressure from both the Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan.

Makwa Sahgaiehcan leadership continue to pursue justice through the courts and tribunals. It’s a long and frustrating road. It feels like Canada is still trying to get rid of us.
